Trade red sauce for a thin layer of cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche and sprinkle on a few toppings and voila, you&#8217;ve got flammkuchen!<\/p>\n<p>My go-to recipe is from Wiesbaden resident, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asausagehastwo.com\/\"><strong>Christie Dietz<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Her recipe has been on high rotation since it was published on<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/thecookscook.com\/recipes\/flammkuchen-elsasser-art\/\">The Cooks Cook website<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s good to keep in mind this is a thin dough, so it won&#8217;t carry the weight of overbearing toppings.\u00a0 Christie&#8217;s recipe is baked in the oven, which I&#8217;ve done, but I prefer grilling.\u00a0 Whether your toppings are savory or sweet, the smoky taste and the slight crisp take this crust to higher ground!\u00a0 I&#8217;ve only made savory, but it&#8217;s time for cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche, sliced peaches and drizzles of honey to make an appearance&#8230; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>(Note: this dough is traditionally rolled square.
